I think Film School is good. And I am going to be very honest here. I had my heart set going to USC from Junior high on. My older Brother went, but he got badly burned after USC. I think I told you the story of the great betrayal. Regardless, it was decided that was not for me. Stupid reasoning and even though I couldn't get into USC, I would have loved the chance.
And for the three you don't need go to film school-- you are right. THere are a lot of great book on screenwriting. But I guess for camera and editing besides learning on the job is ideal. I really liked this post a lot because it has addressed things that have been on my mind for a long time. YOu can do everything at home-- it's a beautiful thing.
